Synapse, groupe français aux confins du rock progressif et du metal sort le 18 Novembre un premier album qui, croyez-le, va vous éclater au moins jusqu'à la fin de l'année ! Vous aimez Muse ou Dream Theater ? Yes et Metallica ? Alors ruez vous sur cet album splendide !
Synapse, jeune combo fondé il y a trois ans nous pond ici une petite merveille d'album aux titres accrocheurs, bâtis comme de vraies chansons malgré la virtuosité évidente des musiciens (et du chanteur Thomas Valentin). Il semble évident que le but ici n'est pas d'en mettre plein la vue aux musiciens technophiles mais bel et bien de raconter des histoires sonores et textuelles sans perdre de vue l'essentiel : des mélodies qui s'ancrent en nous et des progressions qui nous permettent une évasion totale de notre triste quotidien.
Tout au long de ce voyage qui nous raconte leur vision de la place de l'individu dans un monde de plus en plus déshumanisé, où des thèmes comme le changement climatique ("brand new sky") jusqu'à cette glaçante question de la singularité transhumanisme, prophétie noire qui nous promet ni plus ni moins que la mort de l'humain comme on l'a connu et qui est, selon moi, déjà en route dans certains "mouvements"...
Avec Singularities Synapse frappe fort : un premier album de rock/metal progressif qui tient toutes ses promesses et la dragée haute aux meilleurs du genre ! Vive Synapse !

Prog friends are going to be happy !!! Synapse, a French band on the border of progressive rock and metal, is releasing their first album on November 18th. Believe it or not, it will blow you away until the end of the year! Do you like Muse or Dream Theater? Yes and Metallica? Then go for this splendid album!
Synapse, a young combo founded three years ago, has produced a marvellous album with catchy tracks, built like real songs despite the obvious virtuosity of the musicians (and of singer Thomas Valentin). It seems obvious that the aim here is not to show off to technophile musicians but to tell sound and textual stories without losing sight of the essential: melodies that anchor themselves in us and progressions that allow us a total escape from our sad daily life.
All along this journey that tells us their vision of the place of the individual in an increasingly dehumanized world, where themes such as climate change ("brand new sky") up to this chilling question of transhumanism singularity, a black prophecy that promises us neither more nor less than the death of the human as we have known it and that is, according to me, already on the way in some "movements"...
With Singularities, Synapse strikes hard: a first progressive rock/metal album that keeps all its promises and stands up to the best of the genre! Long live Synapse!
