Erre de Numen Numen is a superb example of Black Metal from the Spanish Basque Country, and also a veteran band, having been around since 1997. To mark the release of their latest album, “Erre,” on Les Acteurs de L'Ombre Productions, I had the chance to interview them. Hello, Numen. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about your new album, “Erre”? Hi, greetings from Arrasate—Lander here. Thank you very much for having us. The new album consists of five tracks. It’s still Numen, but there’s been an evolution in technical skill and song composition. Without straying from our roots, it's aggressive, straight-ahead black metal—Numen in its purest form. As for the lyrical content, the entire album is conceptual. 'Erre' means 'To Burn', and It deals with the witch hunts carried out in Iparralde back in the early 17th century. Your songs explore the ancient beliefs of the Basque Country. Could you give us some examples of these beliefs and the rituals associate...

INTERVIEW WITH DEATHLORD OF ABOMINATION AND WAR APOCALYPSE AKA RYAN FÖRSTER (BLASPHEMY/CONQUEROR) It is a great privilege for me to have had this interview with Ryan Forster (aka DEATHLORD OF ABOMINATION AND WAR APOCALYPSE) a great figure in Canadian Black Metal since he founded with J.Read the Conqueror cults, more recently Death Worship, and, with great joy, permanent member of the Blasphemy gods since 1999. So we're talking about all the above-mentioned groups, the Ross Bay Cult, what TRUE Black Metal should be. An interview that makes you want to burn down your entire discotheque to keep only Venom, Bathory, Sarcofago, Blasphemy, Beherit, Conqueror, Archgoat and a few happy fews... But no, I wouldn't burn my atmospheric Black Metal nuggets! Come on, immerse yourself in this real moment in the history of Black Metal! Le Scribe Hail Ryan, thank you for answering my questions it's quite an honor ! We're here to talk about your two bands : the cult ou...

Bonjour ! Asphodèle est un projet...

Since the 90's Sigh is giving us, lucky bastards we are, a very singular way of Black Metal with a lot of elements from different kinds of music. No limits could be the word when it comes to Sigh...Somewhere inbetween Classic Thrash Metal, Psychedelism, Progressive Metal and Black Metal from outer space, there is Sigh ! Here's the story, so far...

Interview with Jarno Salomaa (guitars/Keyboards) FUNERAL DOOM METAL WITH BLACK METAL SHAPES Can you remind us the conditions of birth of the band ? You were first called Raven, back in 1998, and you were already playing melodic and dark profound Funeral Doom ? How did you passed from one band to another and why ? Yes, we started around '94/'95 with Raven. At first, Raven's music were actually more in the vein of today's post black metal without vocals. On atmosphere-wise it drove pretty much the same as later when we slowed things down for good. We made one rehearsal recording back at the first year and then left everything behind for some reason. Can't remember were it cause of other bands (With Death, Haven in shadows, Wanderer etc..)..we had a lot of projects going on at that time with just the few of us living near by. Lots of journeys into the woods and too little of sleep while making music, best way to inspire. But, then in '98...

Ash wasn't in the mood when he answered this. Well, i don't know if he is in the mood sometimes ? Well, after all, it's a real Black Metal mood so...Thanks to him to answer all these questions and all apologies for telling too much the B.... word (Burzum !) I understand it can be annoying ! Enjoy this interview with one of the biggest and greatest band of the whole genre ! Le Scribe
