Erre de Numen Numen is a superb example of Black Metal from the Spanish Basque Country, and also a veteran band, having been around since 1997. To mark the release of their latest album, “Erre,” on Les Acteurs de L'Ombre Productions, I had the chance to interview them. Hello, Numen. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about your new album, “Erre”? Hi, greetings from Arrasate—Lander here. Thank you very much for having us. The new album consists of five tracks. It’s still Numen, but there’s been an evolution in technical skill and song composition. Without straying from our roots, it's aggressive, straight-ahead black metal—Numen in its purest form. As for the lyrical content, the entire album is conceptual. 'Erre' means 'To Burn', and It deals with the witch hunts carried out in Iparralde back in the early 17th century. Battle Magic by Bal-Sagoth Bal-Sagoth! For those of you who were lucky enough to experience the intense emotions of the 90's in Black Metal, this is the still vivid memory of an epic symphonic Black Metal band from Great Britain, who was holding the sword high in front of  Cradle Of Filth in the second half of the decade. It was a literate band, which was the emblem of a dreamlike Black Metal, full of fantasy heroism, with Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard and the myths of antique history as its inspiration. A band that left a lasting impression on me. Achète un Bundyldo avant qu’il ne soit trop tard" (Nicolas Claux) S'il est vrai que Nicolas Claux (ou Castelaux comme nom de plume selon les cas) a commencé sa carrière à la rubrique faits divers (profanations de sépultures, cannibalisme, utilisation du sang comme "drink" et finalement meutre) il a commencé une deuxième vie après des années d'incarcération.  Se découvrant une passion assez logique pour le metier d'agent mortuaire, qu'il a pratiqué de nombreuses années, il est aujourd'hui directeur de collection chez Camion Noir (le pendant "macabre" du Camion Blanc), mais aussi patron du site de murderabilia...

Mutiilation...ce nom résonne comme une belle flambée dans le ciel de France...Fer de lance des mystérieuses Légions Noires (qui resteront un mystère pour toujours), Meyhnach, âme sombre derrière ce combo mythique a semé des graines de noirceur indélébiles dans nos âmes abruties. Mutiilation c'est un mythe aux quatre coins de la planète, un des groupes les plus importants de toute l'histoire du Black Metal. Cette interview que Meyhnach a bien voulu me livrer sera reproduite dans mon prochain bouquin. En attendant, voici donc l'histoire de Mutiilation racontée par Meyhnach lui-même, depuis les sombres nuits de 1991 jusqu'à ce jour funeste de 2017 où le groupe a cessé d'exister...même s'il ne disparaîtra jamais de nos âmes et de nos cœurs  noircis...
