  POLEMICIST Return Of The Sophist 2021 Hessian Firm Black/Death/Dark Metal Return of the Sophist by Polemicist Si je vous dis que les deux américains de Polemicist (Josiah Domico au chant et à la guitare et Lydia Giordano à la guitare) proposent avec Return Of The Sophist un metal extrême et mélodique, grandiose, intelligent et fourmillant de beauté musicale ça vous parle ? En effet, Polemicist, venu de Pennsylvanie, est bien un duo ici accompagné par l'excellent Pendath, batteur émérite chez les tout aussi excellents Mefitis (on en cause dans le Scribe) ici aussi derrière les splendides parties de claviers et Jon Norberg à la basse (ancien membre du groupe de thrash/death Metal du New Jersey Sacrificial Blood). Leur album est tout de majesté vétue en déployant un mix habilement dosé de black/death et dark metal qui renvoie de temps à autre à Méfitis, forcément, mais aussi à des groupes comme Abigor ou Sacramentum pour cette belle combinaison black/death digne des héritiers de Dis...

It’s still Numen, but there’s been an evolution in technical skill and song composition. Without straying from our roots, it's aggressive, straight-ahead black metal—Numen in its purest form.
