Grindcore to the bone : interview with PIG DESTROYER

Image
PIG DESTROYER GRINDCORE BAND INTERVIEW : Interview with Blake Harrison (noise/samples) ENGLISH VERSION/VERSION FRANÇAISE You were originally created by Scott Hull (Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Anal Cunt) and JR Hayes (Enemy Soil) in year 1997. Some consider you’re one of the biggest bands of the second wave of Grindcore. How do you see this period today ? What was your purpose ? Your biggest influences ? I think grindcore in general is making a comeback. With the internet being what it is, there’s more accessibility to more underground music. As far as Pig Destroyer is concerned, we never set out to be “big”, just kind of wanted to make music for us. As fat as our influences, that’s a very broad range. There’s a lot of Melvins and Assück in our music. After two split-albums (with Isis and Orchid) in 1997, you delivered a very intense first demo with John Evans on drums. At this time, what was your mindset ? Did you plan to become the most ferocious grind act ever ? Aga...

INTERVIEW NUMEN - Basque Black Metal ! English & French Text - Les Acteurs de L'Ombre Productions - Pierre Avril

Image
Erre de Numen Numen is a superb example of Black Metal from the Spanish Basque Country, and also a veteran band, having been around since 1997. To mark the release of their latest album, “Erre,” on Les Acteurs de L'Ombre Productions, I had the chance to interview them. Hello, Numen. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about your new album, “Erre”? Hi, greetings from Arrasate—Lander here. Thank you very much for having us. The new album consists of five tracks. It’s still Numen, but there’s been an evolution in technical skill and song composition. Without straying from our roots, it's aggressive, straight-ahead black metal—Numen in its purest form. As for the lyrical content, the entire album is conceptual. 'Erre' means 'To Burn', and It deals with the witch hunts carried out in Iparralde back in the early 17th century. Your songs explore the ancient beliefs of the Basque Country. Could you give us some examples of these beliefs and the rituals associate...

BEATITUDO FALSA EST : INTERVIEW AVEC MEYHNACH DE MUTIILATION (FR/ENG)

Image

INTERVIEW WITH VINDSVAL : THE LAST ONE - FR + ENGLISH TEXT - BLUT AUS NORD/YERUSELEM

Image

Bonjour ! Asphodèle est un projet...

Chronique - IALDABAOTH - The Whole Of The Law - Compilation 2020-2025 - Noise/Grindcore/Industrial/Black Metal - Percussive Spectre

Image

TRIBUTE TO DUSTIN JEFFRIES (1981-2020) : Cult Black Noise from the USA ! Enbilulugugal on interview (ENGLISH + FRENCH)

Image
The words of Izedis Apirikubabadazuzukanpa TRIBUTE TO DUSTIN JEFFRIES  1981-2020 When I did this interview with Izedis from Enbilulugugal, I was far from thinking that it would probably be the last one he gave since he sadly left us in February 2020. The young man (barely 38 years old) had accumulated many health problems for a long time and his heart finally gave out. A charming boy, whose death shocked me so deeply that I found him deeply unjust. He thus joins the idols Seth Putnam or GG Allin in the pantheon of the Extreme Rockers, whose life was as crazy as the music. Still. What sadness to learn that this talented, misunderstood boy, poor as a day without bread, was going to add his stone to the edifice of the artists who were broke too early and broke at the banking level. His music, strange magma of Punk, Noise, Black Metal, Grind and unknown sounds certainly deserves better than the mockery or the little respect he was given. Let's hope at least that this inter...

INTERVIEW WITH DANIEL LUKES, STANIMIR PANAYOTOV AND JACI RAIA ABOUT THE BOOK BLACK METAL RAINBOWS   Black Metal Rainbows de Black Metal Rainbows PIERRE AVRIL LE SCRIBE DU ROCK WWW.WEBZINELESCRIBEDUROCK.COM   Hi Daniel, Jaci and Stanimir ! Thank you for answering my questions! You have published a superb book entitled Black Metal Rainbows , featuring a collective reflection—produced by numerous contributors—on queer and anarchist black metal that is inclusive and rebellious. Can you tell us about this work? Daniel Lukes: The book came together following a “black metal theory” symposium that took place in Dublin in 2015, with a goal of injecting some color and some queerness into that field of discussion, which was arguably emphasized mainly one aspect of the black metal equation: the Nietzschean obscurantist/elitist side. The conference featured Drew Daniel, who notoriously presented his paper in corpsepaint, and the logo was done by Christoph Szpajdel, who was fresh off worki...
