Le Style : Cult Black Metal
Commençons si vous le voulez bien par un petit voyage dans le passé. Nous sommes en 2004 et Eradication, groupe composé de pointures du BM de France sort l'album The Great Cleaning. Un missile exocet de misanthropie sans pitié, de haine furibarde en mode Black Metal que Maltkross nous fait le plaisir de réediter aujourd'hui en version cassette. Attention, tirage limité à 50 exemplaires, y'en n'aura pas pour tout le monde !
A bord de ce navire nauséabond, nous retrouvons de solides gaillards, habitués à batailler sur les mers les plus houleuses, et capables d'aller chercher leur dû jusqu'en enfer s'il le faut.
Au chant et à la guitare se trouve un certain Kaiser Wodhanaz (ou Kaiser W.) que l'on connait forcément pour son groupe principal, le terrible Ad Hominem, mais aussi pour F.A.M.A.S ou Cantus Bestiae. A ses côtés Syl à la basse et aux choeurs et Sad (Chemin de Haine, Cantus Bestiae, Inkisitor) à la batterie. Bref, ce que l'on appelle un casting 5 étoiles !
Vous vous en doutez bien, avec un tel équipage, le navire maudit n'allait pas nous entraîner en mer calme et nous proposer un quelconque ersatz de Black Metal coupé à l'eau douce ! Au contraire, le Black Metal direct, pur, old school du combo s'acharne sur plus de 35 minutes pour nous broyer l'âme à coup d'incantations anti-humaines, s'inscrivant dans la grande tradition de la deuxième vague du BM et sans cacher ses atours punk et crasseux, exempts de toute volonté maniérée de nous séduire pour nous faire cracher au bassinet.
Hélas cet excellent combo ne donnera pas de suite à ce The Great Cleaning qui reste comme un manifeste haineux d'un BM droit au but, sans beauté surfaite, mais d'une beauté maligne et vérolée.
Eradication, avec cet unique album désormais noyé dans les ténèbres, nous laisse un leg putride et noir de True Black comme on n'en fait plus guère, porté par une interprétation toute de conviction et de vérité. Le chapitre se referme et nous laisse avec notre éternelle nostalgie.

Beware, limited edition of 50 copies, there won't be enough for everyone!
Aboard this nauseating ship, we find strong guys, used to fight on the roughest seas, and able to go and get their due to hell if necessary.

As you can imagine, with such a crew, the cursed ship wasn't going to take us to calm seas and offer us some ersatz Black Metal cut in fresh water! On the contrary, the direct, pure, old school Black Metal of the combo is relentless over more than 35 minutes to crush our soul with anti-human incantations, following the great tradition of the second wave of the BM and without hiding its punk and filthy finery, free of any maniacal will to seduce us to make us spit in the bassinet.
Alas, this excellent combo won't follow up on The Great Cleaning, which remains like a hateful manifesto of a BM straight to the point, without overrated beauty, but with a malignant and peculiar beauty.
Eradication, with this unique album now drowned in darkness, leaves us a putrid and black leg of True Black as we hardly do any more, carried by an interpretation full of conviction and truth. The chapter closes and leaves us with our eternal nostalgia
