Ach ! la Grosse douceur Angevine ! Ya ! Gut gut !
Ach! The Big Angevine sweetness! Ya ! Gut gut ! I'll stop...If I say Death/Thrash mixed with industrial influences , who do you think of ? Fear Factory...mmmh...not enough Death ! Ministry? Yep...a little too industrial ! On the other hand, if there is an influence that we quickly recognize in Erased Memory it's Devin Townsend's, notably through the prism of his Strapping Young Lad, through these synths layers that fly over a vindictive Death/Thrash Metal. But nevertheless, the band has its own identity, through these eight tracks that mix majestic, melodic and violent Metal at the same time. From "Birth" to "Finally", we are amazed by the quality of the whole, so much the musicians are impressive and so much the production, very adapted, has nothing to envy to that of international bands. So we wonder why this band from the West doesn't have more visibility!
It's only a band on paper since everything here has been recorded by the ultra-gifted Romain Paulet (some are really impressive!) and he gives to his melodic and raw Sci-Fi Metal a soul that spreads thanks to a science of atmospheres that could remind a less satanic Morbid Angel or a less Heavy Children Of Bodom. Nevertheless, as the picture below shows, the guy has since surrounded himself with a pack of artillerymen to set the scenes ablaze.
In short, a real discovery for me and still the same question: why aren't we more curious about our bands when they are excellent? You have two hours...
